In Tennessee you have to swim 300 meters (No time limit) and get a 10 pound brick from the bottom of the pool and swim on your back with the brick out of the water under 1 minute and 45 seconds. Other than that just the saves, back boarding, and CPR.

In my class we kind of have to write a research paper. Mine is on the American Red Cross , part of this paper is to wite a bibliography. I can't remember what a bibliography is, i know how retarded, and how do i write one on the red cross.
A bibliography is different from a Works Cited page.
Bibliography is a sampling of books on a particular topic, usually encompassing the major works in that literature and some contrasting opinions.
Works Cited is a listing of books, magazines, journals, etc., from which information is taken to write the paper.
Depending on what type of writing style you are using (MLA, APA, Chicago, Turban), you will either write a Bibliography or a Works Cited page.
If a specific writing style hasn't been assigned, usually MLA or APA is accepted.
In general, a Bibliography is an alphabetical list (by last name of author) of all the works you've cited, referenced or utilized.
The authors name, with last name and a comma and initials, goes first. Then the Title of the work (in quotes if it is an article, italicized if it is a periodical, underlined if it is a book) Example:
Keynes, J. M. <u>A General Theory of Interest and Wages.<u> London: Houghton-Mifflin Co., 1938.
Tobin, J. "Towards a More Economically Just Society." <I>Econometrica<I> Vol. 47. Univ. of Chicago Press, May 1963.

I'm interested in volunteering for the Disaster Services division of the Red Cross. How is it working for this division? What's a typical day in the field like? Volunteers need only reply..Thanks!
I'd like to hear the opinions of others that don't answer the phone at the Red Cross and are non-biased.
I think that it is great that you want to volunteer for the Disater Service branch of the Red Cross.
You won't find a typical day in the field. It varies from day to day and from emergency/disaster. Lets say you live in an area where there is a lot of tornados. Now lets say you were called out on 3 of these tornados Each time you went out you would have different experiences and different jobs to do. One time you may be helping with search and rescue in the field. Another they may need you at the temporary shelter passing out food and blankets and making phone calls. You have to be committed to being a volunteer with them. When diaster strikes you are going to have to put your family to the side and concentrate on helping other families. You can be called out any time day or night.
I hope that this answered some of your questions. For a more detail description and for qualifications that you may need contact your local chapter of the Red Cross
My husband leaves for NTC at the end of the week, and I am 35 weeks pregnant, and need to know the process for getting a red cross message to him in the event anything goes wrong with the pregnancy or if I go into labor etc... What is the process? I went on the redcross site and all I can see is what the message system is for and how it works, not how to do it. Help?
simply contact your local red cross with his unit information and the nature of the issue . the redcross in turn verifies this information and begins the process of notifying the service members chain of command . the two times i was contacted through the redcross in my 22 + years of service it was less then 8 hours from the time the redcross was contacted

Nevada Daily Mail: Story: bRed Cross/b offers tips for a safe Halloween
Costumes and candy fill store aisles, and pumpkins are stacked high at produce stands and in patches all around town. The signs are aligned and clear -- Halloween is here.
Only days away now, you're probably getting serious about shopping for costumes and decorations to greet trick-or-treaters or party guests. As black and orange swirl before your eyes and a dizzying array of battery-operated, motion-activated ghosts and vampires call out --literally -- to the little ghoul in us all, the America Red Cross encourages you to add one more note to your Halloween shopping list -- safety.
Most Halloween-related injuries can be prevented by taking some precautions. Now, not Oct. 30, is the time to start thinking about safety, according to the Vernon County office of the American Red Cross.
