Well it is for ages 11-15 and i wonder if i should take that training course or keep looking you know,i have a whole lot of toddlers and infant's in my family and i am responsible i never take an eye off of them, should i take the red cross baby sitting course or just keep looking?
P.S. I never take not even one eye of of them.
I would!! The red cross has a lot to offer. It is a 6 hour course and it teaches you everything you have to know!! CPR- for children AND babies, age appropriate toys, how to start a business..and more! Plus it would look GREAT on a resume, if you ever want to get into the childcare business(because EVERYONE likes the red cross)
We follow these teens through a class at the Red Cross all about babysitting.
I'm applying for a babysitter position and a couple yrs ago I took the American Red Cross course in babysitting. I recieved a card saying I am certified and took the course.
I lost the card a while ago and I need it again!
Is there a way I can get a new card?
Only answer if you really actually know please.
HI KBEE,IF YOU CAN REMEMBER THE LOCATION YOU TOOK IT AT THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO ISSUE YOU ANOTHER CARD JUST AS LONG AS THEY CAN FIND YOURE PAPER WORK AND APPL. FORM YOU FILED WITH, BUT THERE MAY BE A FEE TO PAY FOR LOST OR STOLEN CARD , TRY TO CALL FIRST,GOOD LUCK..
i have plans for next summer when i turn 11 to take the american red cross babysitting class. When i went to the web site i could not findit any where can some one plz give me the the asnwer thx
I'm including the link at the bottom. In case you need to find it again, it's under Health and Safety Services on the sidebar.
http://www.redcross.org/services/hss/cou rses/babyindex.html
You will need to give them your zip code, which will link you to your local Red Cross chapter. When you get to that, click on "Community Resources" and then "Training Classes" followed by "Youth."
The links you need to click on may not be EXACTLY those titles, but look for similar ones. I am basing it off of my local site, so it may be a bit different on yours.
Good luck! I took their babysitting course when I was your age. (If you can, get a friend to go with you! It's fun.)
hi
I'm almost 16 years old and I'm interested in taking the american red cross babysitting class. Am I old enough? What's the class like? How long is it? Where do I go?
lol
thank you if you can answer any of my questions
=)
My 11yr old too this class just this weekend at our local Red Cross.
A friend signed her up not us. So just go to the American Red Cross webpage and you should find the info there.
I think the cost was about $50 or so. The class was from 9-3pm. Each kid took a lunch.
The learned all kinds of things including first aid. They had babies to practice with and watched a video.
My 11yr old enjoyed it. We used it more as a learning experience since we still think she is to young to babysit.
i think i would like to take this course in June because I would like to babysit over the summer for some extra money. I have a few questions:
1. has you or someone you know ever taken this course?
2. is it worth it?
3. do you think parents would trust an almost 14 yr old with their toddlers? Most people tell me im a really responsible person for my age.
4. will taking this course make me more likely to get a job?
Thanks for your help!
I used to teach this course. It is an 8 hour course that covers problem solving, age appropriate activities, emergency situations, BASIC CPR, BASIC first aid (this course does not certify you in CPR or first aid--but will give you a basic knowledge--we always encouraged those who took the course to take the full CPR/First aid certification--but what you learn in this course will definitely help and prepare you!) , and even interviewing questions for you and the family. It is definitely worth it--it will help you assess your skills, as well as teach you new ones. Many parents will look highly on you for taking the course and some may even require it. The course will help be more prepared and professional--which will impress parents.
